In 2020, The Globe and Mail announced Vantage Logistics Services amongst Canada’s top 400 growing companies. The company was ranked #135 on the list. This was the outcome of achieving several milestones throughout the year despite the COVID-19 global pandemic outbreak that started in early 2020. Businesses were obliged to permanently shut down or continue their operations under strict protocols. Like most businesses, Vantage Logistics experienced uncertainty in the beginning while adapting to the circumstances.
As an essential business, operations continued and made sure to prioritize and reassure the safety of their employees. While working from home became a possibility for people who work in an office setting, truck drivers and other essential workers were obliged to work, thus personal protective equipment (PPE) was implemented to ensure safe working conditions. As transportation demands augmented during the pandemic, the company’s revenue tripled since 2019.
Between 2019 and 2020, all departments experienced exponential growth to keep up with new needs. The company’s clientele expanded throughout North America, warehousing activities increased, and along these positive advancements, the company’s fleet size doubled and currently owns over 600 pieces of equipment. Overall, fuel economy and efficiency in all sectors increased. Most importantly the Vantage family doubled and constantly contributes to the company’s growth.
Towards the end of the year, Manbir Johal was announced as the company’s first CEO. His vision to bring the company to the next level with his dedicated team showed positive outcomes throughout 2020. For instance, the company upgraded software to increase efficiency and started an in-house IT department focused on securing internal data.
From 2019 to 2020, there were many significant milestones achieved creating new jobs and seeing more female presence in a male dominant industry. If it were not for the incredible staff at Vantage Logistics, the numbers would not be where they are today. The company is excited for 2021 since there are big plans ahead!
